ESPAI KRU, BARCELONA

ESPAI KRU, BARCELONA

It’s the 21stcentury seafood restaurant, according to the Iglesias brothers (Rías de Galicia), an establishment offering modern and evolved product-based cuisine, but with no fire. That was the challenge taken on more than seven years ago now by Chef Ever Cubilla, and a concept that has continued to please and surprise diners in Barcelona ever since.

Despite what it may seem, the raw dishes have much to offer: oysters, tartares, sashimi fish and all kinds of seafood and marinades.

Original raw dishes

We started with the prawn and spider crab croquette, a burst of flavour and sea on the palate. And we tried the lightly roasted lobster crumpet (excellent!), the tomato tartare (a never-fail classic), a selection of wonderful sashimi, and the fried wild turbot. This restaurant gives you a flavour explosion, lots of passion, and its greatest achievement: the possibility of a light and deliciously intense dinner. It’s a little bit of luxury that’s well worth it to taste top-quality products as you’ve never had them before.
