A mediodía proponen comer a precio cerrado.
Tram-Tram, Barcelona. You know that incredible feeling you always remember when you go to a restaurant with a lot of expectations and excitement and the final result is even better than what you had hoped? Well, that’s exactly what happened when we visited Tram-Tram, a family restaurant with more than 20 years of culinary tradition that has fascinated us from the start.
Avant-garde restaurant with several spaces
Chef Isidre Soler’s proposal is that of traditional cuisine based on selecting products with the utmost care, which he transforms into a menu featuring small creative touches and twists that result in even more suggestive creations.
The place is very well-cared for, and is ideal for anything from a family get together (with various dining rooms that would suit and a beautiful and well-looked after terrace) to intimate or romantic dinners at small, delicate and inviting tables. It is located in the center of one of the most tranquil and historic neighborhoods in Barcelona, Sarrià.
We let ourselves be guided by the chef himself and the young and attentive front-of-house manager (it is such a joy to find good maîtres) and sample some of Soler’s most emblematic dishes: the dashi consommé with wild mushrooms, pheasant cannelloni with truffled béchamel sauce, excellent Maresme peas with pancetta, and a rice with thrush at the end to take your hat off to. For lunch, the restaurant offers a set menu of 33€ with three plates to choose from. These might feature suggestive options like Wild hare terrine with foie and truffle; Creamy wild mushrooms with a low-temperature egg, beans and peas from Mares; Roast Beef; Pig trotter pil pilwith porcini mushrooms; or Suckling lamb fondant. These dishes change from week to week without losing an iota of the excellence of the raw materials and their perfect preparation.
For dessert, the fresh cheese ice cream with sweet touches of tomato and olive provided the ideal end to this feast – the likes of which we had not enjoyed in a long time – which is extremely competitively priced.
I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for surprising your partner one night or for dining with your family on a Sunday. It won’t disappoint and you will leave much more satisfied and with your wallet much less drained than is the case with many other restaurants. Long live the fact that there are still good discoveries to be made in Barcelona!
