Estar en La Cerdanya ya da un punto de tranquilidad, calidez y confort que, además, se acrecienta, si se encuentran pequeños rincones como éste. Sant Marc es un pequeño retiro que cuenta con un restaurante dónde se aúna la tradición de la cocina catalana y lo acogedor del recinto. Dividido en varias salas (ese día comemos un grupo de más de 20), nos dan un precioso salón para comer. Algún día podríamos tratar el tema de los grupos en los restaurantes con más calma, pues creo que todos tenemos todo tipo de experiencias y anécdotas al respecto, ¿verdad?.

De Sant Marc quiero destacar, precisamente, ese trato al grupo. Nos reciben con una sonrisa, nos acomodan y atienden tanto a mayores como a pequeños con diligencia y educación. Nos aconsejan y nos sugieren. El plato de entrantes para compartir hace las delicias de grandes y pequeños (pese a que, siendo compartido, podría incluir mayor cantidad de las variedades que propone). La brasa permite comer buenas carnes en su punto y las croquetas están buenas y en su punto de crujiente. Se echa de menos en el steak tartar el corte a mano con cuchillo pues la calidad de la carne es buena y mayor melosidad en su elaboración.
A destacar los postres, sin creatividad en su elaboración pero con buen toque casero.
Un lugar dónde comer o cenar a buen precio y en un entorno sencillo, casi minimalista pero muy agradable. Un acierto para grupos y una muy buena forma de constatar que salir a comer en grupos de amigos con niños no siempre es sinónimo de alboroto y desorden. Si el servicio ayuda, todo fluye. Y les felicito expresamente por ello.

Just being in La Cerdanya is a source of tranquility, warmth and comfort that, what’s more, increases when you come across small corners like this one. Sant Marc is a small getaway that features a restaurant where traditional Catalan cuisine goes hand in hand with the place’s charm. Divided into various dining rooms (20 of us had lunch together on this day), we are shown to a lovely room for our lunch. Some day we will address the topic of group dining in depth, as I think all of us have experiences and stories in that regard; don’t we?
Bed & Breakfast in a rural hotel
Something I would like to point out about Sant Marc is, precisely, how it handles groups. We are greeted with a smile and both old and young alike are treated with care and respect. They make suggestions and assist us. The appetizer selection for sharing includes delicacies for all ages (despite the fact that, as a shared dish, it could include larger quantities of the chosen selections). The charcoal grill offers good, well-cooked meats, and the croquetasare both good and perfectly crunchy. The steak tartare would benefit from being cut by hand. Given that the meat is of high quality, this would enhance its preparation.
The desserts are notable, lacking in creativity in their design, but with a good, homemade quality.
A place for eating lunch or dinner at a good price and in simple — almost minimalist — but yet very pleasant surroundings. A great choice for groups and a very good way to prove that eating in large groups — including friends with children — needn’t always be synonymous with mayhem and chaos. If the staff is on your side, everything flows. And I congratulate them precisely for this fact.
